At the very height of Summer – which coincidentally is the very height of the holiday season – two thieves entered 53 hotel rooms at the reputable Marriott hotel located on Gatwick’s South Terminal. This shows just how unpredictable an arena a hotel can be.

Footage of these two thieves was released late this September as Sussex police are now appealing to the public for helping in finding these two men. They were apparently just strangers off of the street and were not staying at the hotel nor were they staff. Again this shows just how likely the unlikely is to happen!

They are reported to have made off with a great deal of cash and jewellery; the exact sum of which remains unknown. The heist took them three hours after which they left the hotel without a trace. None of the rooms were entered before or after the men’s arrival.

They had gained access using a missing master key, it is not known how this key was stolen or had simply been lost. Our thoughts go to those who had items stolen.
